Brevard Health Alliance Celebrates 15 Years of Service
Brevard Health Alliance (BHA) is proud to announce the 15-year anniversary of its launch as an independent entity with a focused mission on countywide health improvement. Prior to inception, the Brevard Health Alliance began almost 16 years ago as the three Brevard hospital systems at that time – Health First, Parrish Medical Center and Wuesthoff Hospital – aligned efforts to expand access to primary care medical services for the uninsured and underinsured. No one is turned away due to an inability to pay, and this is what truly sets the BHA clinics apart from other health services.
Making a Difference: Then and Now
Brevard Health Alliance began operations on March 7, 2005 with two clinics and a desire to improve the health of the medically underserved population of Brevard County. Today, BHA has eight clinics and a mobile unit serving patients from Malabar to Mims and beyond.
As Brevard County’s only Community Health Center, Brevard Health Alliance continually aims to improve the health status of Brevard County’s medically underserved populations through quality primary health care, dental health care, mental health care, preventive services, and educational services.
Since beginning, BHA has opened an additional six medical clinics across the county, totaling eight fixed sites where more than 1 million medical, dental or behavioral health enabling encounters have been provided. The organization has also provided care to over 50,000 unique patients every year and provides a breadth of care that now includes adult medicine, pediatrics, dental, hygiene, psychology, psychiatry, nursing education, OB/GYN services, HIV and Hepatitis C treatment services, pharmacy services, and some specialty services.
